The curriculum can also be adapted for younger and older campers if interest demands. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you are interested in enrolling a younger or older child.
Daily sessions will include one hour each of:
Creative Expression with Art Therapist Anna Mills
Campers will focus on using mixed art media (e.g., drawing, painting, clay) to engage in creative therapeutic processes for self-expression and understanding. Campers will also learn related mindfulness techniques. Themes for the day will be the inspiration for each camper’s artistic self-exploration. Our Licensed Art Therapist Anna will lead campers in activities related to the day’s theme. Campers will have the opportunity to express themselves, connect with peers, and learn to value their unique perspective through fun and insightful art therapy methods.
Stress Management Skills with Health and Wellness/Life Coach Dr. Stefanie Bloom
Campers will move and groove their way towards well-being as they discover, design, and develop health and wellness tools of their own. The day’s theme will weave throughout the activities related to stress management and emotional health. Each day our Health and Wellness Coach, Stefanie, will help campers engage in Yoga, meditation, relaxation, and/or visualization; move to music and learn indoor exercises; learn about self-care and nutrition for stress reduction and whole body health; and complete a writing, drawing, drama, and/or role-play task for self-compassion and understanding, related to the daily theme.
Talk Space with Jeanni Jensen, MA, LCPC
Campers will connect to create a compassionate, nurturing environment in which they build self-esteem, improve social interactions, navigate daily life, and manage emotions. Campers are able to share, vent, problem-solve, and support each other within this safe space. Guiding this journey, our therapist Jeanni will introduce a variety of therapeutic techniques to help campers grow as individuals, friends, family members, and as members of their communities and the world as a whole. Game play and expressive therapy techniques will be integrated into conversations to keep them fun, empowering, and interesting, even when difficult topics are explored.
Fifteen-minute breaks will be provided between each hour-long session.
Monday’s theme begins with self/personal identity, and progresses each day to understanding and exploring each participant’s role in friendships, family, community, and the world as a whole.
