Margaret Mallory-Powell, Ph.D., a native of Philadelphia, PA, received her graduate training in child Clinical Psychology at The Pennsylvania State University.  She is a licensed Psychologist in Maryland and the District of Columbia. Dr. Mallory-Powell is also a certified School Psychologist. In addition to her role as a School Psychologist, Dr. Mallory-Powell has extensive private practice experience.  She maintains a small therapy caseload and specializes primarily in assessment.

​Dr. Mallory-Powell has 20 years of experience conducting psychological assessments with children with learning disabilities, developmental delays, attentional challenges, Autism, social-emotional struggles, and vulnerabilities that may impact their daily lives. Dr. Mallory-Powell provides comprehensive evaluations utilizing evidence based educational, intellectual, cognitive, social-emotional, and neuropsychological measures. Dr. Mallory-Powell’s reports are focused on the needs of each individual, and her personalized recommendations serve to support both strengths and vulnerabilities.

​Dr. Mallory-Powell has extensive experience collaborating with teachers, educational advocates, and parents to develop plans of action designed to improve each child’s academic and/or social functioning, and she has extensive knowledge of the special education and 504 process. As such, Dr. Mallory-Powell is an expert in understanding 504 Plans and IEPs. Her reports reflect this knowledge, and she is able to serve as an experienced coach to families navigating school-based accommodations and special education services.

​In her spare time, Dr. Mallory-Powell enjoys traveling with her husband, a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer, and spending time with her adult daughters and two lovable dogs.
