Welcome to WBMA, LLC & The SOAR Program for Psychotherapy and Testing

We are a unique practice, providing comprehensive, collaborative mental health care through our team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychotherapists. Our patient population is diverse, and we are inclusive and welcoming to all. We know reaching out is not easy, and we are dedicated to creating the most helpful treatment path for each and every person and family.

Our psychiatrists provide highly personalized care for children, teens, young adults, adults, and seniors. Our physician-scientists offer specialized diagnoses and treatment including, but not limited to: mood and anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), alcohol and substance abuse disorders (including suboxone), and psychiatric management of genetic disorders. Telepsychiatry services are available for established patients only.

Within The SOAR Program, our psychologists and psychotherapists provide empathic therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, including individual, group, parenting, couples, and family support. Our compassionate providers utilize a variety of evidence-based modalities, individualized for every patient. Supportive, personalized therapy is provided within the context of a carefully matched, strong therapeutic relationship with one of our highly trained clinicians. We welcome those interested in care based in expressive therapies, such as art, drama, and music, as well. Telehealth services are available in some circumstances, including for parent coaching.

Telehealth Groups

WBMA, LLLC’s SOAR Program for Psychotherapy and Testing is currently enrolling the following telehealth groups. Groups meet weekly and include a maximum of 5 or 6 members.

Summer Camp

This summer, the SOAR Program for Psychotherapy & Testing is excited to offer a virtual camp program. The curriculum will be engaging, enjoyable, and therapeutic.

The SOAR Program’s licensed psychologists also offer comprehensive testing services, including: neuropsychological, psychological (including social-emotional), psychoeducational, developmental, giftedness (including ‘2E’), and admissions testing. Testing is available for individuals of all ages. The psychologist matched to each individual personally provides all testing services, data driven reports, observations, and recommendations. We do not rely on students, techs, or psychology associates for testing, as it is imperative to us that we provide the highest level of care, based in the highest level of training and experience. Our psychologists utilize standardized testing measures and projective tools, and provide diagnoses, interpretations, and recommendations informed by the latest in neuroscience, psychology, and education research. Our testing team offers years of experience in the area.

Art Therapy

Art Therapy is a form of visual expressive communication which can circumvent the limitations of language. This visual and symbolic expression fosters self-esteem and self-awareness, cultivates emotional resilience, promotes insight, enhances social skills, and empowers the individual to reduce and resolve conflicts and distress. It is also used to improve cognitive executive functioning and sensory-motor functions.

Art Therapy benefits children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. The type of art therapy is specific to the needs of the patient and can be used to help with emotional distress, adjustment issues, relief from trauma, self-awareness, recognizing and healing pain, and processing grief and loss. Through the creative process, patients express feelings and explore vulnerabilities. Each patient’s creative process is unique, and may include a variety of art making methods, like drawing, painting, collage, or sculpture. In Art Therapy, the emphasis is on the process of creating the art, and using it as a means of communication and exploration. Art Therapy does not require training, experience, or ‘skill.’ Art Therapy is facilitated by a master-level clinician trained and licensed in art therapy.

‘Next Steps’ and Treatment Planning

Our team meets with some patients for preliminary intake to help guide treatment planning. We offer ‘next steps’ written reports and case management to coordinate care and to help determine a ‘roadmap’ for those who wish for such support. This might include recommendations and referrals for medical consultations, testing, therapy, tutoring, school support (e.g., in school, placement specialists), extracurriculars, legal support, financial planning, home-based strategies, etc. following detailed clinical interview.

Additional Services

Along with specialized services in psychopharmacology, medication management for children, teens, adults, and seniors, and comprehensive therapy and testing services, WBMA offers brain modulation treatment (rTMS, eTNS, tDCS) and genetics/pharmacogenetics services. WBMA and SOAR also provide second opinion consultation and expert witness evaluations and testimony. Our clinicians are available for speaking engagements. We also provide school-based observations.
