Melissa Gatlin brings over 30 years of experience supporting clients of all ages as they navigate anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, and loss. She creates a warm, welcoming environment where clients feel heard, understood, and supported. Recognizing that each stage of life brings different needs, Melissa tailors her approach to each person’s experiences, strengths, and goals.
Melissa uses a humanistic, person-centered approach, integrating evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and communication skills. She works primarily with adults and older adults, including neurotypical and neurodivergent individuals, helping them manage symptoms and navigate everyday challenges. Melissa also works with a small number of children. Her approach incorporates play therapy, CBT, ACT, attachment work, social skills development, and emotional regulation strategies. She also supports behavior modification strategies to promote children’s well-being. She welcomes members of the LGBTQIA+ community and invites prospective clients to connect to explore whether her approach is a good fit for their needs.
In her free time, Melissa enjoys sharing music with her adult children and spending time in nature, walking and kayaking with her “perfect” dog, Watson, along for the adventure.
